Twenty years pitching, playing baseball and 7 Cy Young awards later…Roger Clemens….has been INDICTED by a federal grand jury for LYING to Congress about his use of drugs. His accuser is a retired New York police officer. This dude produced needles he had saved which he claimed were used to inject Roger with Human Growth Hormone amongst other things. Roger Clemens categorically denied he ever used such things knowingly.

FOLKS…I am in Roger Clemens corner 100%. Permit me….a few moments to explain WHY. First, the accuser is a former cop. The purpose for saving the needles has now been revealed. IF Roger were to “fire” this trainer…Mr. McNamee…this jerk ….would…. surface and accuse ….delivering the needles as confirmation and corroboration.

Second, the needles don’t speak for themselves. They’re  inanimate objects and require someone to discuss their significance, if any. AND …if…someone has taken the time to “prepare” the evidence…such preparation might go unnoticed UNTIL trial by jury. There…such possibility of contrivance… will be explored.

Assume McNamee foresaw a time when he might get fired as trainer. When McNamee testified before Congress he mentioned his expectation of discharge.  He injected Roger from time to time with B-12 stuff. Roger never suspected otherwise. McNamee saved these needles based on his former police officer training. While a non-officer would throw such bio-hazard away…he “kept them”.

Once McNamee was “fired”…he became an “avenging angel”…with dark purpose. He took those needles and dipped them in HGH and other stuff. He then delivered these “prepared needles” to the proper investigative authorities. Since Clemens DNA was obviously mixed into that “prepared needle”…the NEEDLES became “proof of illicit usage”. McNamee merely …then…presented this “prepared evidence” telling his unwitting listeners  such needles were  proof-positive of  Clemens LYING to Congress.

AND the ONLY ONE who could “unlock” the LIE would be McNamee…a position of power…. typical  New York Police crave to possess. So long as he continued to LIE…Clemens would be indicted. YES…Clemens will prevail at trial….and Yes…McNamee will be exposed as LIAR…BUT…look at the HELL McNamee has put his former employer through!

FOLKS…in Connecticut….the U.S. Senate race between McMahon and Blumenthal…will be entertainment in hyper-drive.  Bloomie…as his pals call him….told this writer last night he was ready to take on this challenger in a Russian Death Cage Match…only one winner ….only one key. McMahon countered by declaring she was the REAL DEAL…and not something imagined.

Of course, she was referring to Bloomie’s LIE about his military exploits. Some time back…Bloomie told his audience of eager ear and mind…he had been a WAR HERO. He told them about how he had saved Lt. Dan and several others but was unable to get his best friend, BUBBA, out of harm’s way. He described HOW he had found and carried what was left of BUBBA out of the area before the Napalm was dropped.

Later on…LIAR-Bloomie…was caught telling this story in front of 5000 voters…each  tear-filled eye praising the valor and bravery of Bloomie. Here was a hero to praise. He’d saved Lt. Dan…..and… gone back for BUBBA. What courage!  Here was the ONE who could be their representative in Washington DC. However, such illusion wasn’t to last very long…because someone yelled out “LIAR”.

The commotion in the crowd became manifest. WHAT? He’s not a war hero? He didn’t save Lt. Dan? How about BUBBA…did he return and extract BUBBA? He’s the State Attorney General and  a Laurels thief! He never was in any shooting battles. He never ducked  bullets or helped  someone without legs  crawl to safety. He was …and…still is…a LIAR.  But…it’s far worse to “LIE” about such things when other men have actually performed* as he described. It’s so reprehensible. AND the voters of Connecticut won’t permit such LIAR to become their representative in the U.S. Senate. SMACK DOWN!

* In the movie, IRON CROSS, a  German officer goes to the Crimea in WW II to get an IRON CROSS…then…return to his cushion  job in southern France. He does succeed in conniving a scenario for receipt of such an award of valor. BUT… Sgt Stiener…who knows the truth…enters the room as they are about to be overrun. He tells this dude the game is over. He hands the Officer a machine gun. The officer says to him,”Very well… I’ll show you how a Prussian Officer fights”…. to which….Sgt. Stiener replies, “AND I’ll show you….(deep sigh and` reflective pause)… where the IRON CROSSES grow!”
